IPI and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility)
The history of CSR in Ibiden Philippines (IPI) is one that would trace CSR as a practice that has long been there, but was neither given the birth nor name. When the corporate team took action to re-affirm CSR in its road map, it likewise re-affirmed the enthusiasm to make CSR a " household-name", a business (and otherwise) parlance consisting of three-letter acronym that should not remain undefined.
So IPI defined CSR as Corporate Social Responsibility, not in any way different from how others do, definition per se. But under the common definition is the uniqueness of activities that ensued, as a result of the collaborative resourcefulness of the corporate team who worked for its development and proliferation.
IPI approached CSR from the perspective of interrelated directions. Close to the corporate visions of many a successful companies which is to meet the so called triple bottom line, we (IPI) also took actions that would make OUR CSR a corporate advocacy serving the interests of people, planet and profit.
People
We want to improve how our current and future employees perceive our company. We want the community to see IPI as a company that practices social accountability. To align with such aim, we started activities that would promote good corporate governance, a thrust of CSR that would instill transparency and zero-fraud in the business. We engaged in community volunteering activities with our people as participants thereby strengthening the sense of social awareness internally and externally. We develop ways and means towards making the IPI populace an advocate of good corporate citizenry.
Planet
The growth in the industry means globalization. As our company continuously seeks hard to earn the global trust, we continue to become more aware of the environmental implications of the day to day decisions we made. We strive to attain the highest level of responsibility as a company that is constantly conscious of environmental and ethical concerns while we exert our very best to meet business demands
Profit
We have become aware of the risks arising from the complexities of our business functions. In IPI CSR, we recognize that managing risks is a central part of our corporate strategies. We want to build a reputation for integrity and best practice. By unceasingly putting into action the program of risk management, we can prevent risks and business mishaps which ultimately will drain profit resources and business sustainability.
Continuity in development and sustainAbility in action. This is how we molded the foundation of CSR in IPI to become the pressing factor towards which IPI and its people will behave responsibly. Having been formally borne and conceptualized, we strive to make this advocacy a product of good conception and rearing in the hands of the corporate team , cascaded down to the generations that are expected to practice ,sustain , and embrace as a corporate culture.
